It was 1989 and home hospice services had begun for families in need in Boca Raton. It soon became apparent a facility was desperately needed for those that could not be cared for they lived. Billi Shupp, one of the founders of Hospice by the Sea, approached Eugene Lynn about a gift to help build a wing to complete the Hospice by the Sea Care Center in Boca Raton.
In 1993 Eugene and Christine Lynn pledged a large impactful gift that allowed Hospice by the Sea to finish construction and open its doors. Almost 30 years later Christine Lynn has continued to support Hospice by the Sea and now the Trustbridge Hospice Boca Care Center. When asked for her thoughts on the services that hospice provides for the community Christine responds “What hospice is providing to this community is invaluable. I have watched friends at the end of their journey and I have seen how hospice nurses and doctors and staff are there for them. It is important to this community to have hospice here in Boca Raton.” Christine again recently stepped up to support the Boca Care Center and named the Reception Desk. To show her continued support, Christine also appeared in a testimonial video [link] about the importance of this facility for the community and also the importance of the services that Trustbridge Hospice provides to all of our patients and families. Christine was pleasantly surprised to learn about two children’s camps that Trustbridge provides for any grieving child in our community, not just children of Hospice patients. One that is a week-long camp for grieving children and the other, an overnight weekend camp for older youth. We are blessed to have engaged Christine and Eugene back in 1989 and so very grateful to still have the support of Christine Lynn and the E.M. Lynn Foundation almost 30 years later.
