Our Pet Peace of Mind® (PPOM) Program helps hospice patients to complete their end-of-life journey with the comfort and companionship of their beloved cat or dog. Trained volunteers provide in-home pet care assistance when our patients can no longer manage it themselves. With this kind of compassionate support, patients are able to keep their pets without worrying about their needs being met.
Volunteers can assist with the following:
- Walking, feeding, playing and clean-up
- Bathing, brushing and pampering
- Transportation of pets to appointments with veterinarians, groomers and temporary boarding facilities
- Shopping for pet supplies
Pet Peace of Mind® also provides resources for patients who financially qualify. Assistance is available with veterinarian care, vaccinations, flea, tick and heartworm medications, food and pet supplies, short-term boarding, and grooming when medically necessary. This program is funded through the Hospice of Palm Beach County Foundation and dependent upon donations and grants.
